Compsns. for attracting and controlling Nepticulidae moths contain 6,8-nonadien-2-ol (I) as active ingredient. Pref. (I) is in the form of the S or R isomer, esp. a mixt. of S(E)-6,8-nonadien-2-ol (Ia) and S(Z)-6,8-nonadien-2-ol (Ib) in a ratio of 1:9 to 9:1. The compsns. may also contain insecticides, sterilants, growth regulators or microorganisms.
