The roof subassembly for a vehicle has a number of equipment parts pre-assembled to it. These may include an antiglare device, an internal rear view mirror, a loudspeaker, or a reading lamp. The base frame (1) is designed such that in the assembled state a hollow chamber (5) exists, narrowing towards the rear, and located between the upper end of the formed screen (2) and to the transition (3) where the roof skin (4) runs horizontally.
