PURPOSE: To reduce weight and man-hour for assembly. CONSTITUTION: An air bag device comprises an air bag 1, an inflator 7, a case 12, and a retainer 24. The mounting pieces 4, 4, 5, and 5 of the air bag 1 are arranged on the under surface of the bottom wall 29 of the retainer 24. Also the bolts 30 of the retainer bottom wall 29 are inserted into the mounting holes 4a and 5a of the air bag 1 and inserted also into the mounting hole 17a of the case 12 and fixed with a nut 31, and the retainer 24 retains the mounting pieces 4, 4, 5, and 5 of the air bag 1 so as to install the air bag on the bottom wall 17 of the case 12. Then the inflator 7 is inserted fixedly into the inserting holes 13a, 3b, 25a, 26a, 3d, and 14a of the case 12, air bag 1, and retainer 24.
