Pattern transfer appts. for curved body surfaces

The appts. transfers of a pattern to a convex curved body surface, using an elastic strip (16) with a pattern carrier (17), transfers the pattern by heat and pressure. A clamping mechanism (20-34) tenses the elastic strip (16) at both ends (16a,16b), to draw it under tension round the curved body surface (12). The pattern carrier (17) is between the elastic strip (16) and the body surface (12). The elastic strip (16) is of silicon, with an electrostatic bonding between the strip (16) and pattern carrier (17). The elastic strip (16) is stretched, to be drawn over the curved body surface (12), by more than 10% of its relaxed length, and pref. more than 20% and especially more than 30%.
