The radiation heater body has a carrier pan (13) and at least one electrical heating body arranged within it in a heating zone (19). The heating body is a bright radiator mounted in a tube with a temp. sensor of a temp. limiting device extending at least over part of the heating zone. The bright radiator is in the form of an incomplete ring.Both ends (22) of the ring, which carry electrical connections, are at a distance apart in the peripheral direction and form an unheated gap (24) between them. The temp. sensor (32) is arranged to lie within the gap (24). The tube enclosing the bright radiator is essentially straight in the vicinity of its ends.
