摘要 PURPOSE: To recognize an identification symbol by the dot character of an optical disk with high accuracy. CONSTITUTION: The main spindle of inertia passing through the centroid of each dot character image 101 is found, respectively, and the median value of gradient value of each main spindle is calculated. A straight line intersecting with an arranging axis with an angleϕin which an angleθshown as the center value is subtracted from 90 deg. is set as an initial projecting axis, and the projecting axis is pivoted at a prescribed angle pitch, and the image length of a character string projected on the projecting axis at every angle is calculated. The minimum one of the calculated image length of the character string is detected, and the angleϕat that time is subtracted from 90 deg., and the angle is set as the gradient angleθa of the character image. Dots are connected by applying expansion/contraction processing for the number of times in which the fact to what degree each dot character image 101 is diffused or contracted for a corresponding reference type dot character is considered, and normalization to a corresponding model character is performed by the size and the gradient angleθa of a connected character image, and a normalized image is compared with a model mark.
