MONLITHIC ELECTRIC DOUBLE LAYER CAPACITOR

PURPOSE: To obtain a monolithic electric double layer capacitor which avoids that hydrogen gas, oxygen gas or the like generated at a time when a large current flows fills or that an internal resistance is increased due to a slight reduction in an electrolytic solution by a method wherein a permeable sheet is installed on a plurality of capacitor cells as to close one opening part formed in a gasket. CONSTITUTION: A permeable sheet 17 is bonded onto bonding parts of a protrusion part 25 for a conductive sheet 21 to protrusion parts 26 for a gasket 23, and a pressure plate 18 is attached to it. Hydrogen gas, oxygen gas or the like which is generated in capacitor cells 15 is passed through an opening at the upper part of the gasket 23 so as to enter the permeable sheet 17. Then, the gas is passed through pores inside the sheet so as to reach an opening in an inner cap 12. A gas generated at a time when a container inner pressure reaches a prescribed pressure is evacuated to the outside of a container by a valve 13 for evacuation. Consequently, it is possible to prevent the gas from filling the capacitor cells 15 so as to increase the internal resistance of a capacitor 100.
