The transmission system allows information relating to the access code for operation of the garage door drive and further function codes to be transmitted from the master control device to each slave hand-held control device, using an inductive and/or capacitive transponder principle. The information transmission may be effected via a semi-duplex or full-duplex transmission mode, with the access code information accompanied by an identification denoting the reception devices as slave control devices.
