Concrete and metal protective structure subject to explosive blasts and splinter impacts

The protective structure comprises highly deformable concrete (1). The concrete has steel bars (4) forming its armature. A steel sheet (3) which is placed on the side opposite the explosion constitutes a flexible resisting element which takes up the traction forces generated by the explosion pressure. Fastening bars (2) with a calibrated rupture form the necessary mechanical connection between the steel sheet and the concrete. These bars fuse when the forces applied on the steel sheet attain a fixed limit. The fastening bars calibrated rupture (5) is placed near the steel sheet. The fastening bars are welded (6) to the steel sheet. The concrete surface (7) can be treated.
