The wall-facing material, to prevent air and draughts passing through while being permeable to water vapour, is composed of a polyolefin fabric (12) and a polyolefin film (18). A layer of molten resin (26) is extruded on to the polyolefin fabric (12), as a bonding adhesive between it and the polyolefin film (18). The layered material is perforated. The polyolefin fabric (12) is reinforced with high density polyethylene filaments at a concentration rate of 4.25 x 2.5 strips per 2.54 cm. The polyolefin film is a linear low density polyethylene. The extruded molten resin (26) is a low density polyethylene, to give a layer 0.0025-10.0 mm thick. It is extruded at a temp. of 204-371 deg C. The layers are bonded together at a pressure of 17-350 N/linear cm. The perforation openings are 0.005-6.0 mm. The polyolefin fabric (12) and film (18) are fed at a speed of 15-152 m/min. The polyolefin fabric (12) can be of polyethylene, polypropylene or polybutylene of high, medium or low density. The reinforcing filaments, of glass or metal or polymer, can be in a concentration of 4.5 x 2.5 to 24 x 12 strips per 2.54 cm. The extruded resin (26) can be of polyethylene, polypropylene, polyester, polyurethane, acrylic, polyamide, polyvinyl acetate, PVC, styrene, polycarbonate of high or medium or low density, their mixtures or copolymers, in a thickness of 0.0025-10.0 mm. The polyolefin film (18) is of polyethylene, polypropylene or polybutylene of high, medium or low density, in a thickness of 0.006-10.0 mm. |
