FIELD: radio measurement technology; measurement of carrier frequency of high-frequency and superhigh-frequency oscillations. SUBSTANCE: meter has three switches, splitter, two splitters-in-half with unequal difference in length of output sides, two identical phase-metering channels that have phase splitter with 2N outputs, N adders and detectors, calibrating generator, N amplifiers, subtracters and selector switches, read-out device incorporated in multiple-input analog- to-number converter, microprocessor, storage and display units, and control unit. Unknown-frequency signal arriving at input of switch 1, while meter is operating, is split in half by splitter 2, then once more in half by splitter-in-half 3, and goes to inputs of phase-metering channels 4 wherein phase relations are converted into amplitude ones. Using voltage amplitudes at outputs of these channels, microprocessor 14 computes frequency under measurement. Provision is made in meter for calibration mode of operation during which gains of phase-metering channels 4 for desired frequency range are equalized by varying amplifier characteristics and memorizing them for each frequency. EFFECT: reduced systematic errors associated with asymmetry of transition attenuation of bridge circuits and difference in current-voltage characteristics of detectors. 1 dwg |
