FIELD: food- processing industry. SUBSTANCE: method involves feeding portion of grain with acceleration rate of 0.01-0.05 g; allowing grain to fall into caking chamber from height equal to 5-10-fold thickness of grain; heating and squeezing grain by dies; providing swelling and caking of grain by fast separating dies from grain; discharging ready product. Apparatus has caking chamber 1 defined by top die 2 and bottom die 3, which are axially aligned with fixed restrictor 4 adapted to embrace dies 2 and 3. Pan 8 with window 25 and prismatic guides 26 is mounted on restrictor 4. Gate valve 7 with metering insert 24 of charging device are movable along guides 26. Charging device has raw grain material hopper 6. Dies 2 and 3 and restrictor 4 are provided with heaters 5.
