PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safety device for a vehicle occupant, especially, an air bag module furnished with a housing and a holding ring to fasten an air bag on the housing. SOLUTION: An air bag module 10 is furnished with a housing 12. An air bag is folded in the inside of the housing and stored there. A holding ring 30 fastens the air bag on the housing 12. The holding ring 30 is furnished with relatively movable two holding ring members 152, 154. It is possible to put assembly tabs 210, 212, 252, 254 provided on the holding ring members 152, 154 in the housing 12 by gripping them and moving the holding ring 30 in a folded state in the first direction through a developed port. Thereafter, the holding ring 30 is inflated, moved in the opposite direction and is engaged with the housing 12 with each other.
