The expanding tool has a cylindrical expanding mandrel (5) consisting of a plurality of cylinder-sector expanding components (10) which are interchangeably secured and guided on a face of a housing (1). The expanding mandrel (5) has a partially conical inner drilling (6) with which engages an expanding cone (4) operating together with actuating means (2) which advance the expanding cone (4) into the inner drilling (6) of the expanding mandrel (5) to expand the end (19) of a pipe fitted on said mandrel (5).
