The locking cylinder (10) consists of a sleeve (30) that includes an axially rotating support, held on a holder attached to the door of a vehicle. A key can be used to operate the cylinder core (20). The cylinder core has spring loaded catches that engage at least one of the locking nuts (51) of the sleeve when the key is removed from the cylinder. The locking cylinder also has an overload clutch (13,33) which has an axially lifted profile that is arranged between the sleeve and the housing . The overload clutch is axially sprung during its normal operating state. The locking groove of the sleeve is axially loaded w.r.t the cylinder core. The free running overload clutch allows for axial rotation with respect to the sleeve segment.
