Excavator equipment with hydraulic grab

The grab (1,2) slews on the excavator boom using outer and inner bushes (11,12). The spring-loaded hollow bar (15) works via its cone portion against balls (13) in holes in the inner bush and thus against the outer bush, and both rotates and slides in the vertical direction. A hinging finger (3) on the inside of one of the grab jaws (1), and is coupled by an actuating rod (4,5) to the outer bush. The rod is in two parts which can be rigidly or movably coupled together. The grab jaws are coupled by levers to a hydraulic ram (8) working with the hollow bar.
