The circuit provides virtual connections between a number of incoming lines for the information cells and a number of outgoing subscriber lines (A1), with characteristic parameters and one of at least 2 different priorities for each virtual connection. Each subscriber line has an associated handling device (BHE) with a central cell memory (CM) providing individual information cell waiting loops for the information cells received from the virtual connections. The control device (STE) for the cell memory has a table defining the waiting loop priority, used for controlling the processing order of the stored information cells.
