A process for producing a jaw orthopaedic device which has a projecting structure and which can be connected with teeth, comprises producing a plastic orthopaedic device with protruding members and inner and outer extremities. The outer extremities are softened and pressure is applied to form the protruding structure. The orthopaedic thermoplastic device pref. contains polycarbonate material, and the heat transfer step is carried out at between 177 and 204 deg C.
