Air intake system for IC engine

The air intake system comprises a casing (2) that has an air inlet (1) and in which is formed a manifold volume that connects the air inlet to inlet ports of the internal combustion engine by means of intake pipes (5) arranged in the casing. The casing is formed from two separate casing parts (3,4) which adjoin to one another in a common parting plane. A displacement body (6) that is arranged in the manifold volume, this volume is designed as a dead volume that is closed off relative to the manifold volume. The dead volume extends on both sides of the parting plane. The displacement body is arranged in such a way in the manifold volume that air flows around its surface on all sides.
