A mobile assembly (2) for continuously mining rock, sizing it and converting it to a slurry for pumping to a treatment station (3). The mobile assembly includes a continuous mechanical miner (5) arranged to cut rock with the cutting head (6), gather it onto the conveyors (10 and 24) and transport it to a hammer mill (26) which crushes and sizes the rock before allowing it to drop into a mixing chamber (41) through an eductor (44) to be turbulently mixed with water, converted to a slurry and pumped to a treatment station (58).
