The swim fin is held on by a tongue (1) which is threaded through a hole in it. The tongue has two strips of hooked pile fasteners (2,3) which hold on the user's ankle. A strap (4) is stitched to the outer surface of the tongue and is fastened round the ankle by a buckle (5). The tongue passes from the interior to the interior of the fin. It is part of the leg of a wet suit and is stitched or bonded to this. It can be fixed to the suit bus trips of hooked pile fasteners.
