PURPOSE: To obtain a make-up cosmetic excellent in dispersibility by formulating titanium oxide powder having uniform particle size and narrow particle size distribution as a whitening pigment. CONSTITUTION: A titanium powder having primary particle size of 0.1-14μm (especially preferred 0.4-10μm) and having a span of <=2 is incorporated into a make-up cosmetic. The span is defined by the formula, span = (D90-D10)/D50 (wherein D90, D50 and D10 are the integrated value of particle size corresponding to 90%, 50% and 10% integration of particle distribution). The amount of this titanium oxide powder in a make-up cosmetic formulation is same or preferably more than that of a conventional whitening pigment. As the make-up cosmetic there are foundation cosmetic, pressed-powder, lip-stick and eye-shadow.
