The brake body (3), contained in a housing (2), is in the form of a movable brake shoe. It is displaceable between a position locked in the braking direction, and a release position by a control connected to the blind pull (5). The control is in the form of a brake lining (7) fixed to the blind-pull. The brake shoe is movable by its own weight into its braking position. The brake shoe has a stopping gear element (9) whose position can be altered by a cam (10). The brake shoe has guide links (13) in the form of a curved track and into which fit guide bodies (12) on the housing side. The brake shoe has a concertina shaped transmission element (8) for displacing the stopping gear element (9).
