A flat tube with multiple cavities for heat exchangers has a closable metal strip (2) bent in the longitudinal direction and solder-plated at least on its inner wall with two opposite flat sides (3, 4) and two interconnecting curved parts (5, 6). At least one of the flat tube sides has at least one shaped partition (7, 8) that extends inside the tube in the longitudinal direction of the tube and forms a solderable contact area (26) with the inner wall it contacts. The flat tube is characterised in that the shaped partition (7, 8) has at least one longitudinal strip (17, 22) in the contact area along which holes in the partition are spaced apart. A flux may be poured through the holes from the outside and spread on the contact area so that the contact area may be firmly soldered. Also disclosed is a process for manufacturing the flat tube with multiple cavities. |
