Prodn. of two-component polyester fibres and filaments for e.g. net curtains

The prodn. of two-component polyester fibres and filaments comprises (a) modifying part (A) of the polyester (I) by the addn. and homogeneous incorporation of modifiers (II) and opt. other additives, (b) combining the modified (I) with the rest of the unmodified (I) (part B) in two-component spinning nozzle(s), (c) spinning the two-component filaments, (d) combining the filaments to form spun tow or yarn and (e) further processing by stretching, crimping and heating. Also claimed are two-component fibres and filaments obtd. by this process.
