Vertical conveyor for transporting catering supplies on board aircraft

The device has two belt systems running in opposite directions. These engage with the menu boxes (14) via strip type pick-ups orientated perpendicular to the running direction of the belts. The conveyor (6) has at least one warming device. This includes a packet of heat inductors which pivot about a vertical axis (19) between a rest position and an operating position. The heat inductors (17) each include an induction coil. The operating position is such that the heat inductors (17) are pivoted into the space (16) between the menu boxes (14). The heat inductors (14) preferably only cover part of the menu boxes (14) in the operating position. The packet of inductors may include a large number e.g. a multiple of eight inductors (17). The heating device may include several inductor packets. The conveyer may also have a scanning device to read data carriers on the menu boxes which contain information on the content of the boxes.
