PURPOSE: To obtain an information processing means which executes a heat- assisted recording without using an intricate optical system and which makes its reproduction possible. CONSTITUTION: A recording medium 8 is scanned with a probe 3 at the tip of a probe 1 for recording and reproducing, and mechanical deformation is induced in the corresponding part to be heated on the surface of the recording medium 8 by the local heating generated by the electric heater 4 of the probe 3 at the top to record information. In this case, an electric heater driving means drives the electric heater 4 according to the information signal to be recorded to heat the probe 3 part and to cause mechanical deformation on the recording medium 8 surface, thereby, execution of the heat-assisted recording with good reproducibility without using the optical system is made possible. |
