PURPOSE: To provide a camera device which is capable of using a high sensitivity mode and a high resolution mode by switching the modes on the assumption that the device has a delay difference type noise reduction function and has a smaller amount of hardware. CONSTITUTION: The output signal of a CCD 1 in which a final horizontal transfer gate can be driven independently from other horizontal transfer gate is delayed by prescribed time in a delay line 3 By using this delayed signal and an original output signal, the noise of the output signal is reduced by the integration type delay difference noise reduction circuit by sample-and-hold circuit 5 and 6. In a pulse frequency divider circuit 7, a final horizontal gate pulseϕH2L to be impressed on the final horizontal transfer gate is frequency-divided to N. The pulse before and after this N-frequency division is made to be alternatively inputted in the CCD1. As a result, only one delay line is required and the camera device with a smaller amount of hardware can be realized.
