The machine consists of a frame with two rollers with inner and outer profiles which compliment one another. At least one of the profiled rollers is driven and at least one of the rollers can be moved towards the other. One of the rollers is in the form of a ring (8) which has a profile on its inner face. The other roller (3) is mounted inside the first roller and is moved against the pipe surface to force it into the profile of the matching ring. The ring shaped ring is mounted on support rollers (7).
