Binder for auto-crosslinkable paints and varnishes in the organic phase or in aq. dispersion comprising one or more hydroxylated and/or carboxylated fluorinated copolymers and one or more epoxidised and/or alkoxylated acrylic copolymers is claimed, the fluorinated copolymers are based on the following monomers:- 1) 45-85% molar of vinylidene fluoride(VF2) and/or trifluoroethylene(VF3); 2) 15-55% molar of tetrafluoroethylene(C2F4); 3) 5-20 moles per 100 moles of (1) and (2), of one or more allylic monomers chosen from the hydroxylated allylic ethers and/or carboxylated esters such as CH2=CHCH2O(CH2)nOH; n = 2-4; CH2=CHCH2(OCH2CH2)nOH; n = 1-4; CH2CHCH2(OCH2CH(CH3))nOH; n = 1-4; CH2=CHCH2OCH2CHOHCH2OH; CH2=CHCH2OCH2CH(CH2CH3)(CH2OH)2; CH2=CHCH2OCOC2H4COOH; CH2=CHCH2OCH2CH2OCOC6H10COOH; 4) 0-20 moles per 100 moles of (1) and (2) of one or more monomers chosen from non-hydroxylated vinyl ethers such as butylvinylether. 5) 0-5 moles per 100 moles of (1) and (2), of one or more fluorinated (meth)acrylate monomers chosen from trifluoroethylene (meth)acrylate and (meth)acrylates attached to gps. CF3(CF2)m such as: CH2=CHCOOC2H4C6F13 and CH2CHCOOC2H4C8F17 and acrylic copolymers based on the following monomers:- -50-90% of wt. of one or more alkyl (meth)acrylates such as methyl methacrylate(MAM), butyl acrylate(ABu). -10-50% wt. (pref. 20-40%)of one or more alkyl(meth)acrylate monomers substd. by alkoxy and/or epoxy gps. such as glycidyl (meth)acrylate(MAGLY), methoxyethyl methacrylate(MAEE), etc..
