The cork has a cylindrical body made from natural cork (1) onto one or both heads of which are vulcanised and welded a lid consisting of two parts. The first part comprises a washer (2), forming the surface of the cork head, is composed of rubber mixed with crumbled cork. It is treated in order to extract the undesirable tannins and tastes and then flavoured with extracts compatible with the wine. This mixture has the same porosity as the cork. The second part of the lid is a collar (3) which penetrates inside the cork cylindrical part from one or both of its heads. This collar is composed of pure rubber which gives the cork an immediate springy return.
