Spent black liquor from a pulp bleaching process is burned in a soda recovery boiler(2). Primary, secondary and tertiary combustion air for boiler is preheated to improve combustion efficiency. The air streams are heated in heat exchangers(6,10,13) using the effluent(21) from the bleaching process. The effluent is in turn cooled sufficiently for purification in biological treatment means. |
