Removing odours and other contaminants from air from agricultural production units

Odours and other contaminants are removed from air by cooling and contacting with a washing liquid, in particular water. The air stream is cooled in a heat exchanger to a temperature below the dew point so that condensation forms on the walls of the heat exchanger for good contact with the air. Odours and other contaminants are absorbed in the condensation film and the condensate may then be drained away. Also claimed is the apparatus using the method described above containing an air washing zone, a cooled heat exchanger and means for allowing the air to make good contact with the heat exchanger.
