Seat support rails for vehicle

The vehicle seat is mounted on each side on an upper rail (6) whose two flanges are supported on bearing tracks (9) in the two sides of a lower rail, fitted to the floor of the vehicle. The slots (21) through which the two flanges move are protected by flexible lips (18) which close the slots fore and aft of the seat position. The lips are pressed aside by the upper rail. The flexible lips are part of a moulded strip (12) fitted to the centre of the lower rail. It provides a protective cover for the rail and prevents entry of dust and grit.
