Delivery of auxiliary yarn from maintenance unit to open end spinner

To draw out an auxiliary yarn (2) from an auxiliary bobbin (3) at a mobile maintenance unit, on laying an empty bobbin sleeve at an open-end spinner and/or splicing with an empty sleeve, a braking force is applied to it at one point and an advance movement is imposed on it after the brake so that, during its movement, the yarn (2) is held at a sufficient and constant tension. Also claimed is a mobile maintenance unit with a mechanism switched into advance; the yarn (2) between the auxiliary bobbin (3) and the feed arm (7), acting in the yarn (2) path.
