The electrolysis reactor for processing industrial waste water by electrolysis, has direct current supplied electrode plates arranged in parallel at a given interval, between which there is a channel of fixed length to direct the waste water flow onto the plate surfaces. The channel (2) is a totally enclosed channel with an essentially constant cross section. The electrode plates (1) form the channel (2) being separated by elastic spacers (3) made of insulating material. Also claimed is an electrolysis reactor with channel levels formed above or beside one another, the lower level having a waste water inlet, and the uppermost level having a waste water outlet.
