The fixing consists of a guide rail (2) with openings in its side and base for fastening to a wall or ceiling, and clamps with apertures (12) for the curtain rod. Each clamp has two articulated and spring-loaded branches (5, 8), connected to jaws (6, 16) which are able to fit into the guide rail apertures when closed. When the branches are released, the jaws open out inside the guide rail and lock the clamp in the required position. The clamps are easily fitted in the required position along the guide rail by squeezing the branches together, and are just as easily adjusted or removed. The clamps can be made e.g. by moulding in one piece.
