PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a measuring apparatus in which it is not required to install a target plate and by which the correction value of the angle of inclination of a TV camera is measured automatically after the TV camera has been installed. SOLUTION: A TV camera 12 starts/stops a CCD charge storage operation according to an exposure control signal Cd from a vehicle detector 11, the image of a running vehicle is subjected to time quadrature, and a running track image which contains a linear component corresponding to the running track of the vehicle is obtained. With reference to the running track image, an image processing part 21 performs an image processing operation by using a linear detection by a Hough transformation, the linear component corresponding to the running track of the vehicle is detected, and a running-track angle of inclinationθav with reference to the horizintal axis of a screen is found. This measurement is executed to a plurality of vehicles, a correction-value computing part 22 finds the mean valueθov of a plurality of angles of inclinationθav 's when the dispersion of the plurality of measured angles of inclinationθav 's is at a definite value or lower. An angle of inclinationθR with reference to the horizontal axis of the screen of the running track of the vehicle is found when the TV camera 12 is installed at a desired rolling angle, and the difference between the mean valueθov of the angles of inclinationθav 's and the angle of inclinationθR is output as a rolling-angle correction valueθcorr .
