MAGNETIC RECORDING MEDIUM AND ITS PRODUCTION

摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the thickness of a magnetic layer without deteriorating the mechanical strength such as running durability and resistance to the falling of powder. SOLUTION: A lower nonmagnetic layer and an upper magnetic layer contg. ferromagnetic metal powder as magnetic powder are formed on a nonmagnetic substrate to obtain the objective magnetic recording medium. The average thickness of the magnetic layer is <=1.0μm and a binder and carbon black powder of 0.04-0.13μm average primary particle diameter are contained in the nonmagnetic layer.
