PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processing method suitable for speedy photographic development as well as a planar particle emulsion made of a stabilized high chloride having a main surface 111} by bromide or iodide ions. SOLUTION: The photographic element comprises emulsion containing planar silver halide emulsion group made of at least 50mol% of chloride based on silver, at least 50% of the projection area of which particle group being dominated by planar particles surrounded by a main surface 111}, each having at least two aspect ratios and being composed of a core and a circuferential band containing the bromide or iodide of which level is higher than that existing in the core, the band containing 30% of silver in the planar particles, the element having at least the sensitivity of ISO-25.
