The method involves, after shredding and kneading, gravity dumping of the waste into a container (6). The sequence involves dumping of the waste discharge and compacting to alternatively dump the shreddings and compact them in a container. Dumping of the shreddings is interrupted when the container is filled. During the interruption, the compacted shreddings are packaged to assure their coherence and form a unitary block. The block is then discharged.
