A main information signal is read from a record carrier of a type on which the main information signal has been recorded together with first subinformation packets having a predetermined data format, and representing information related to the main information signal. Second subinformation packets are produced having the same data format as the first subinformation packets and which represent subinformation, being not related with the main information signal. The first and second subinformation packets are interleaved in order to obtain a subinformation signal being transmitted together with the main information signal.
