PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid jet recording head emitting uniform liquid droplets generating no satellite droplets or mist and capable of being driven by high response frequency. SOLUTION: A passage 25 constituted of an orifice side end part having an emitting orifice 24 provided to the leading end thereof, a heat energy acting part and the end part on the side of an inflow port equipped with the inflow part communicating with the acting part 29 to supply a recording liquid to the acting part 29 is provided. An air bubble 31 is generated in the recording liquid by applying pulse-like energy to the acting part 29 and the acting force accompanied by an increase in the vol. of the air bubble 31 is divided into two forces on the side of the emitting orifice and on the side of the inflow port and the recording liquid is allowed to fly from the emitting orifice as recording liquid droplets to perform recording. When the distance from the orifice side end part of the passage 25 to the middle point of the acting part 29 is set to (a) and the distance from the middle point of the acting part 29 to the region where the ceiling of the passage part becomes high is set to (b) and the average cross-sectional area of the passage is set to S, a relational expression of 5a<b<100√S is satisfied.
