PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a cyclic alcohol of high purity by catalytic hydration reaction of a cyclic olefin in the presence of crystalline aluminosilicate at a specific or lower concentration as a catalyst. SOLUTION: This method for producing a cyclic alcohol comprises carrying out a catalytic hydration reaction of a cyclic olefin in an oil phase that contains the cyclic olefin of the formula Cn H2n-2-m Rm (R is a 1-4C alkyl, phenyl or cyclohexyl; (n) is an integer of 5-12; (m) is an integer of 1-4), in coexistence with (C) an aqueous phase by using (A) crystalline aluminosilicate having a primary particle diameter of <=0.5μm as a catalyst, and distilling the cyclic alcohol-containing liquid obtained from the oil phase which contains the component B, through a rectification tower while limiting the component A contained in the liquid at any place in the rectification tower to a concentration of <=100ppmwt. The concentration of the component A in the oil phase can be reduced by vaporizing the oil phase before being fed into the rectification tower.
