The correction system has wheels (2,3) projecting successive blanks and accelerate them into a tortoiseshell formation on a conveyor belt (4). This belt engages a cylinder (5) which leads the tortoiseshell stream onto a correction conveyor (6) formed by spaced belts (6a). The correction conveyor has wheels (8,9), whose edges form a truncated cone, are adjustably mounted on a common drive shaft (18). Thus the tortoiseshell edge passes between two centralising truncated cones. The speed of the correction conveyor belt is equal to the peripheral speed of the truncated cone base (B) formed by each wheel. Fine close together grooves are formed at the periphery of each wheel truncated cone.
