The animal branding device comprises a gripping sleeve (30) connected to supports (12) for branding marks (13). In order to brand the animal the handle is gripped and the supports swept in a plane vertical and longitudinal to the animal so that the branding marks come into contact with the animal's skin. The plane containing the supports is inclined at an acute angle ( alpha ) to the plane containing the sleeve longitudinal axis and the support end. Shock absorbing blocks (20) are mounted between the sleeve and the support.
