Determination of substrates of NAD+ and NADP+-dependent dehydrogenase

Enzymatic-electrochemical method for the determination of substrates (A) of NAD<+>- and NADP<+>-dependent dehydrogenases comprises reacting an analyte with dehydrogenase and salicylate-hydroxylase, and measuring the formation or consumption of NADH or NADPH as a quantitative current signal at low potential, or with a Clark O2 electrode. Also claimed is a sensor for (A) comprising an oxygen- or pyrocatechol- membrane electrode, where the membrane contains salicylatehydroxylase and dehydrogenase in a matrix, which optionally stores NADP<+>.
