Provided is an indoor unit for an air conditioner, the indoor unit being configured so that a plurality of axial flow fans can discharge conditioning air having a flow rate corresponding to the speed of each of the axial flow fans. An indoor unit for an air conditioner is provided with: a casing having a suction opening which is formed in the upper part thereof, and also having a discharge opening which is formed on the lower side of the front face of the casing; a plurality of axial flow fans arranged within the casing at positions downstream of the suction opening so as to be side by side in the widthwise direction of the casing; a heat exchanger provided within the casing at a position downstream of the axial flow fans and upstream of the discharge opening, and exchanging heat between a refrigerant and air which is discharged from the axial flow fans; and a vertical louver plate for regulating the vertical direction of an air flow discharged from the discharge opening. An internal air passage is divided into air passages by separating adjacent pairs of the plurality of axial flow fans from each other. The vertical louver plate is provided with a partition plate mounted on a surface of the vertical louver plate so as to extend in the direction along the short sides of the vertical louver plate, and the partition plate divides the vertical louver plate corresponding to the division of the internal air passage. |
