PURPOSE:To prevent the heating of a jet head and improve the throughput through shortcut printing by parking a recording head from a heating means when the temperature of a recording head becomes improper for recording by action of the heating means. CONSTITUTION:If a power supply for a printer is turned ON, a temperature control section 6 starts energization to a heater for fixing 4 and controls the temperature so that is reaches a prearranged value. A printer control section 8 monitors the temperature of a recording head 1 with the help of a thermister 7. If the temperature exceeds a specified range, a carriage 2 is moved to a position 4 where the heat generated by the heater for fixing 4 does not affect a recording head 1 adversely, immediately after the completion of recording a single line. Then the carriage 2 is maintained at a position A until the temperature of the recording head becomes a temperature which does not affect a recording action adversely. After this, the recording action is resumed, if the following line can be printed for recording at any time. Consequently, it is possible to minimize a rise in the temperature of the recording head and improve the throughput through shortcut printing. |
