PURPOSE:To enhance dispersion stability of an electric charge generating material, and electric characteristics and mechanical strength of a photosensitive body by using a specified polycarbonate resin as the binder resin of a single layer type photosensitive layer. CONSTITUTION:The photosensitive layer formed on a conductive substrate contains in a dispersed state, the charge generating material, such as a bisazo compound, containing a charge transfer material, such as a hydrazone compound, and a binder resin A composed essentially of the polycarbonate having repeating units each represented by formula I in which each of R<1> and R<2> is H, 1-3 C alkyl, or halogen, and at least one of both is alkyl, and as said unit, the unit of formula II and the like can be used, optionally together with other repeating units. |
